Hi All,
I've unfortunately been issued a work PC, so I'm wondering if there is a way to take advantage of the real estate (not resolution) of my 30" ACD. The only way I think this will work is by doing the following:
1. Connecting the MiniDisplay cable from the Dual-Link DVI adapter into:

I'm freakin sick of the ITMS. :mad:
I love iTunes and my iPod, but purchasing music that can only be put on an iPod is crap. There may be a better player out later which I want to go to and then *poof* my ITMS purchased tracks are crap.

Thanks. On the subject of editing. I know a track can be muted, but what about a region (section) without having to mute the whole track? Can a region be muted separately?:cool:

So with WMP gone and now VPC gone, the only MAJOR software developed for Macs by Microsoft is Office?
Let's just hope they don't decide to kill office. Sure, I know there are lots of alternatives out there, but you try telling that to Mr. idiot joe-average boss.
Yeah, Office will stay. They said they are committed for at least 5 more years. Office is probably the only Mac software they develop and actually make a decent profit on.

I like the new design, though it's very much information indeed. What I really miss is the news preview. I could see before, if it's worth to look at "Page 2", because the newest article was shown. Now, I will have to take a look.

The name of the patent application is "Electronic Device Having Display and Surrounding Touch Sensitive Bezel for User Interface and Control". The patent describes and depicts a full-screen touch sensitive iPod very similar to the various Video iPod Mockups (http://guides.macrumors.com/Gallery_of_Video_iPod_Mockups) that have been floating around the web. The application was filed in June of 2006.
The focus of the patent is the incorporation of a touch-sensitive bezel (edge of screen) that can adapt to the screen contents to provide an input method for the user. Hrmpf suggests that the use of this non-screen area would eliminate many of the "smudge" and "scratch" concerns for a full-screen touch iPod.
The diagrams included clearly depict what appears to be a full-screen Video iPod. The rumors of a full-screen Video iPod have been ongoing for some time, but picked up steam in February 2006 (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/02/20060209095419.shtml) with claims that the full screen Video iPod would arrive in the coming months. I have about 20 TB of photos. The biggest advice I can give you that others have stated is from the beginning organize your photos in a very logical manner and edit the meta-data to reflect what they are. This is very very important for when you get very large collections of photos.
Also unless you have a mac pro tower where you can put hard drives inside your best bet is an external for your pics.

It was brought up in another thread, but I didn't want to completely hijack it for this purpose.
I spent a little (very little) time adding some links and information to the Cocoa FAQ. I changed the link text from the forum head to "How do I get started programming on the Mac?" to hopefully guide people there more readily, as newcomers may not know what Cocoa means.
I'd encourage everyone to beef up the FAQ to include more iPhone specific examples, and links to any helpful tutorials, etc.
I think it would be good to have a "one-stop shop" for newcomers instead of us posting essentially the same answers to the "I want to write apps for the iPhone. I've never programmed/never programmed for the Mac before, where do I start?" type questions over and over again. Instead I think having a solid reference would go far, so questions are more like "Why doesn't the first class I wrote work?" where we can actually provide helpful guidance instead of continually spewing the same answers to the same questions ad infinitum.
If you guys have the time, try to beef the Cocoa FAQ more to make it a real resource. There were some links, and I tried to add more, to make it more complete.

If Apple produces an Unlocked iPhone what any of the major carriers does won't matter.
Look at the success of Sony Ericsson's unlocked phones. They're selling millions in the US alone, and the reason is that to use one all that the customer need worry about is how to slip in a SIM card and pay the bill. The rest is up to the carriers to worry about: And that's the way it should be. Customers shouldn't have to get wrapped up in the details and restrictions.
T-Mobile has spent $4.2 billion for new wireless spectrum licenses covering the U.S. .

I'd like to hear experienced peoples opinions on this because I'm thinking about learning how to create a website & am leaning towards a setup similar to this... Travelling all the time across Europe,using different carriers (Vodafone,Orange,Movistar,Beeline,Mtel etc.) and never ever have I had a dropped call,so the "antenna issue" is not a concern at all over here...

Bravo guys. Capitalism can be energizing but it only works if the majority of citizens bother to vote in leadership that looks out for all citizens, not favor a handful of the most well off citizens. It's our fault we keep electing bozos to Washington.
The massive PR campaigns and spin carried out by all levels of government have nothing at all to do with it though right? :p
Seriously its a mix of an apathetic public when it comes to politics (how often do you hear "politics are so boring!"), and those in power abusing the public trust, whom don't get to see the inner workings of institutions.
At this point its really meaningless to participate in elections on the state and country levels if you are going to vote for the Republican or Democratic parties. They've been in power long enough to tweak the system to insure they stay in power, in tick-tock rotation.

To be honest, my Incase snap case has survived numerous falls, one of which was 5 foot fall onto concrete. The case itself managed to get a small crack on a corner but the phone is still scratch free. No damages whatsoever. Also, unlike many snap style cases, the snap case has a lay-on-table design so it protects the screen as well.

I was at home, in bed (had the stomach flu). Found out when my dad called (he had initially freaked out because he had called me at work and I wasn't there, and he was trying to figure out where I was because they were evacuating buidlings in Chicago (I used to work and go to college near the Sears Tower). Needless to say, he was relieved that I was already at home. I was so ill, though, that I didn't quite understand what he was saying - finally, he told me to just turn on the TV). I watched the television coverage for a while, but it certainly didn't help my already upset stomach, so I was actually glad when my Aunt called and asked if I could pick her up at the train station (her workplace decided to let everyone go home early).
