Thanks. So I guess it is my imagination, the extra screen real estate. Maybe I'm just longing for higher resolution :[

They can't take away office... They signed a 5 year contract to continue makeing Office for mac at MWSF 2006.
That doesn't mean they have to make the best product they can or the one users want! All the macros I make for use on PC and mac are now going to be useless soon. Of course, MS corporate is well aware of this. This totally sucks for macro users.

hi,
what been missed out in this discussion is that the ACD has no HDCP support !!! that means no protected Blueray HD content plays
( maybe thats why there is no blue ray option yet !)
and even when DVI is compatible to HDMI , without HDCP the ACD stays black, which makes the name Cinema a bit obsolete ,
This is a sketch of three different anime ears. Notice the sizes, rounded, squared, and small child like ear. I myself like the small and medium sized ear.

Posixninja just tweeted that this is the slowest progressing jailbreak ever. I'm guessing no jb for iPad 2 anytime soon. We need geohot back

Is it possible that there's a bad connection to the speakers? It sounds like you can only hear audio through headphones... in which case, audio could in fact be being rerouted to the speakers when headphones are unplugged, but broken speakers=no sound. eh?

Another in the "too easy" series. iMovie this time!
We're trying to catch the evil cat.
Kinda choppy because I had to cut it down to ~30 seconds.

Thanks for the reply Laird but think it's the keyboard at fault (just bought on ebay). With Keyboard Viewer open when I press the alt key the corresponding alt key on the viewer doesn't go grey as all the other keys do when pressed.

Yeah, that fixed it. It's a shame the iPod doesn't have more time-zones. You'd think they'd account for Australia! :rolleyes:No problem... :)
Coming from a small European country outside EU, I can understand your frustration of being left out, sometimes (all though we haven't got that particular problem, as we share time zone with e.g. Paris and Berlin... ;))

The longer you keep hold of it, the less people will have a Mac that will require the older card (as they upgrade, they'll be wanting an Airport extreme card, or whatever comes along next to replace it).
Your best bet is probably just to pop it in the post to me it'll go nicely with my G3 iBook. I won't charge you anything for taking it off your hands, seeing as how it's Christmas. :p

Ambrosia Software (http://www.ambrosiasw.com) hosted a booth at this year's Macworld Expo to promote the some of their new and upcoming software titles for the Mac.
http://images.macrumors.com/article/2008/01/18/030034-ambrosia_500.jpg
Their most recent utility launch was of WireTap Studio (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/wiretap/) which we've previously previewed (http://www.macrumors.com/2007/09/13/exclusive-preview-ambrosia-softwares-wiretap-studio/) ahead of the official launch. WireTap Studio provides some unique tools for anyone who needs to record or manage audio on their Mac. LivePreview remains the most dramatic feature, allowing you to preview different audio encodings in real time to find the best balance of quality vs. size. I'd expect that podcasters in particular would have an interest in this $69 tool.
iToner (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/itoner/) is an easy-to-use $15 utility that allows you to convert existing songs (MP3, MP4, AIFF or WAV) into custom iPhone ringtones. The just-announced iPhone 1.1.3 firmware breaks iToner functionality, however, but Ambrosia tells us that version 1.0.6 of iToner is in beta testing and will address the iPhone 1.1.3 incompatibility.
http://images.macrumors.com/article/2008/01/18/030034-aquaria_500.jpg
Finally, Aquaria is a new game that Ambrosia will be releasing in "Q1 2008" which is a port of a PC game originally created by Bit Blot (http://www.bit-blot.com/). The PC version of the game was only recently released in December of 2007 and well received (http://pc.ign.com/articles/844/844673p1.html). Aquaria is described as an "action-oriented, non-linear side-scrolling game that uses an innovative and intuitive mouse control system". Pricing has not yet been announced, but downloadable demo will be available upon release.
Finally, Ambrosia is offering a 10% discount Macworld Special (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/mwsf/) on all products which remains good until January 31, 2008.

I'm freakin sick of the ITMS.
I love iTunes and my iPod, but purchasing music that can only be put on an iPod is crap. There may be a better player out later which I want to go to and then *poof* my ITMS purchased tracks are crap.
www.allofmp3.com
It's (significantly) cheaper.
It's better.
'Nuff said.
Not only is that site a pirate site but I personally know many people who run very small independent record labels that have stuff on there without permission.
Avoid these jokers at all costs.
There are legitimate drm-free places to buy digital music.
dynamicvworking out the key from the lock and pass onto another locksmith to make an exact copy to open a house or allow others to tour your house for free is not wrong? gee, what's the point of the lock on you door? what's the point of any password on your keychain (access)?
Stop trying to fight DRM, ignore it or don't buy the crap in the first place
It's a poor analogy because it's actually my door I'm trying to open (I bought the tracks).
Fair use!
AllofMP3 is exactly how all music selling sites should be. The possibility to choose exact what quality you want is great, no DRM is great, the price is of course also great.
If only the artists would get paid it would be perfect.
If you're going to "steal" music just use limewire or soulseek. Why pay someone to steal it for you? I don't understand.

Hi guys,
I'm dusting off my OpenGL Superbible and going at it again and I was setting everything up in XCode 4 (The book uses three but I don't think that matters).
Anyway I got everything running except I get this warning that I don't know how to resolve.
I attached a picture of them so that it is easier to see (since the warnings wont copy and paste in) but also have included it here. The project runs and builds perfectly fine, but for some reason this error still shows up.
Here is the error but attached is a picture too:

Cybergypsy has an opened 8GB iPhone but she doesn't want an iPod Touch, she will trade even for a 4GB iPhone. So if you can a hold of one of them, that'll work out for both of you.

Regardless of the mic's quality, being that it is on-camera would mean that only the sounds very close to the camera would be picked up well.
On-camera mics are notorious for overall poor sound recording. If you want good quality audio recording, you'd need to mic the sound source(s) properly and with the right type of mic(s).

So, I'm trying to connect my DirecTV reciever to an Airport Base Station that I want to extend my wireless network, which is configured using a Siemens Gigaset router for our Frontier internet.
In Airport Utility, I've got "extend a wireless network" selected, but when I try to select my specific wireless network, it says "the network you've selected cannot be extended".
So I guess my question is this: is there a way to make my Gigaset router wireless network extendable, or will I only be able to use my Airport base to extend other Apple wireless routers?
I am almost positive you cannot extend via airport extreme any other non apple device. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
I would, if I were you, turn off the wifi module of the Siemens; connect it to the airport extreme Ethernet and broadcast from there.
Keep in mind, for direct tv, I am almost certain as well you need a Ethernet cable direct into a router from the dtv white homeshare box to broadcast the the other homesharing dtv devices.
