If you just bought a new iMac will apple give you the new lion free or with a discount?

The time frame will probably be from when they announce the release date at WWDC in early June until the actual release if they don't announce a date at that time, it will be whenever they announce a date. Once they have told people when it is coming out, they don't want to hurt sales, so they offer the new OS.
Anyone buying from this past Tuesday until that announcement is not eligible for anything less than what anyone else would pay.

Hello all,
Unfortunately, I don't really have any programming language knowledge. I get by with HTML and CSS but that's about it.
For a project I have, I'd like to create a simple HTML form where a user can select options and/or enter text into fields.
I'd then like the data to be inputted into a database which would allow me to export it and view it.
Is this what MySQL is for? What would be the easiest way to go about this?
What good books/guides would you recommend?
I could actually do what I want offline (as in create a form in a word processor) but am interested in seeing what online options are available?
I realise that if I do this online, I will need to host it somewhere, so if anyone can recommend a free host (ideally offering subdomains on their URL or theirdomain.com/mysite so that I don't have to buy a domain), it would be most appreciated.
I'd also need the access to be password protected.
The concept isn't yet 100% clear in my mind, so any suggestions or advice are welcome.

Solved the problem by upgrading my iPad using a laptop at the Apple Store. Apparently my home computer had issues connecting to the Apple servers which were getting hammered.

I drilled a hole for the reset/power button but havnt tried that.

Also if yall have trouble with software update I figured out how to get latest Firmware installed. I been meaning to post my success and just getting around to it hope it helps.
Install cydelete to get the older version un-installed from the icon. This helps if you have the Cydia glitch that wont allow you to scroll to "y" section or load the yosion source in Cydia.
After install cydelete and then hold on the icons for phone/mms delete them just like you would for a normal non cydia icon app make sure you respring.
1) make sure openssh and ifile are installed respring if need install then step2.
2) on your PC, download WinSCP (windows) here
http://winscp.net/eng/index.php
you can also use Cyberduck (windows/mac) i used winscp
3) connect your ipod touch to your computer. if itunes automatically loads, close that down.
4) start WinSCP.
use the following details to log in to WinSCP
server: Your_IP_address
I used the ip listed under wifi settings.

Hi with all the wonderful help in this forum I have just jailbroken my iPhone 4. Now I am trying to do the same for my iPad. Since iPad doesn't have baseband, should I just restore to 4.2.1 directly from iTunes or I should still download the firmware somewhere and start TSS server of TinyUmbrella while restoring to 4.2.1? That's essentially what I was looking for as well, first just a way of figuring out how the backlight LED levels are determined and then trying to see if it could be controlled.
Interesting. It works great for me in Xcode 3.2.6 on OS X 10.6.6. Are you using another version or OS? How does it break for you? I just created a new Application -> Command Line Tool -> Foundation, add IOKit to the project and away we go.

I just sort of autopiloted through creating a C program in Xcode 4. I should know better since I've been passing IOKit & CoreFoundation frameworks to gcc in a Terminal window for the past couple of evenings.

Out of curiosity, why did you use a third party charger? I've done it a few times with other devices, but it's always been with quality, branded chargers (like charging my Kindle with my BlackBerry's charger), but I wouldn't dare do that with my iPad unless I knew it was top quality since so many of those third party chargers, like third party batteries, can damage your equipment.
By the way, I think using a third party charger may have voided your warranty anyway. At least on some devices I'm pretty sure it does.

Not being to familiar with the console I've been using InCrease that works really fast and stays in the background. It even keeps running after I log out at the end of the day (at work) or night (at home) I just recently installed it on my new G5 X-serve (dual 2.3 ghz 520gb mirrored drives with 4gb RAM) and it's doing 50-60point GROMACs in about 7 to 8 hours each, well 2 at a time so I'm crunching about 100 points in 8 hours with it.
