So then the question becomes, if not LTE why the delay?
Some have said a new version of iOS. But why would a phone have to wait for that? You would just upgrade later like we all did with iOS4. So there has to be some other reason. But what? New size of screen, like the edge to edge thing talked about? The rumor mill keeps saying that the design won't be much different then the iPhone 4, so if true, and there is no LTE. Then why the delay? It's not because of Japan, because these rumors were floating about before all that.
It's kind of madding because I am in the market for a new phone now and fall is an awfully long time to wait. If another year is added on top of that for LTE, well...wow. That could work out to a year and a half from now for an LTE iPhone, unless they release something in another unusual timeframe...like say Feb. or March. But I don't see that happening. That's a really LONG time to wait for something in the fast moving world of phones and electronics.
Two reasons.
1) The iPad 2 and the iPhone 5 will compete for some components (such as flash). Given apple's inability to produce in accordance with iPad 2 demand, it's possible producing iPhone 5's could further reduce that ability. If they value maximum iPad 2 capacity more than a summer launch, that's one explanation.
2) iPhone 4 sales with a Verizon model and a forthcoming white version have been/are/will be strong enough to warrant selling them for a few extra months.
Of course, there is the concern of falling behind competitors and not maximizing profits, but those are all concerns to be weighed.

That would be a sexy phone indeed. The current design/shape is rather uninspired compared to the stuff before. Metal, rounded edges, asymmetrical: win. The teardrop angles it a little on a table. Tre nice.

Whoever has been saying that any of the future Mobile Me + Cloud stuff would be free is probably just projecting wishful thinking anyway.
Apple's Cloud is a natural extension of Mobile Me, but I don't have any fantasies that any of it will be free -- and as an Apple Stockholder, I would be upset if Apple was spending all that money "out of the goodness of their hearts" ... they need to continue to GROW and that means the costs should not only be recovered, but would hopefully be a source of at least a little margin.

Me too. I didn't realize it has been 5 years since I bought my last pair of blue jeans. I only have 2 pairs of blue jeans, and 1 pair of dark greys. I don't wear jeans all the time like some people do, so I never think of replacing at least one of those. One pair definitely doesn't fit anymore, while I love the other pair (but they fit rather "meh").

There is very little difference between the two masses. 2.4mg difference. That is less than 2% of 140g.
It is not a matter of "thinking too much" about it but a matter of simply "thinking" about it.

It's actually 2.4 grams, which may not be a huge difference per se but in a product with such tight parts tollerance to me suggest differences in parts used. It may be the white casing, it may be a reshaped chassis or even a different chip. iFixit will tell.

Are people still thinking this is coming out next week? There haven't been any other updates since this story was released and I'm starting to doubt it's going to happen on Tuesday. I'd love to know what GPU the 27" is going to have.
I'm thinking the same thing. No new iMac news all week! Makes me think it's not coming tuesday. But who knows. Wish we'd get a spec list or something. I'm guessing it's not a huge overhaul of design. Just an innards update with sandy bridge and the latest desktop processors. Hopefully some muscle in the mobile video card options.
The upgrade that I would absolutely love is a dedicated ssd for OS and frequently used apps (like a 64 gb or 128 gb drive). And then a 1tb platter for storage.

The Gobi chip in the verizon iphone 4 supports it. If they use that for a universal iphone 5, the question is whether apple/at&t enables it.
Wondering why they don't if the hardware is there and the network supports it already.

Almost every song Ive come across on iTunes that costs 1.29 is the musical equivalent of a Michael bay movie.
Also I wish someone besides apple would sell songs in something besides mp3, these days we should be able to download the wav file and convert it to whatever we want.
