Since it's a slow and lazy Saturday at home, I decided to get the PS3 folding. So now I have the MP, my MacBook, two of 6 unix machines, my wife's iMac, and my PS3 folding.........what have you guys done to me? ;)
All the folding happiness will be coming to a close on Dec 7th though. That's when the movers show up to do the final packing and ship all my household goods. I should be back up and running full-on by mid Jan.
PS3's give good ppd, and as far as what WE have done to you... check the water - bwahaha!
Here is a link to Atlas's machine stats, it's freeking awesome (http://atlasfolding.com/fahstats/summary.html)to look at!!!!!

Hi, you all!
This iAdware thing is old news and has been already fixed in latest security update by Apple.
Greetings from Finland,
Toni
...
The iAdware is just one of the vulns discovered this month, the Month of Kernal Bugs found several problems in the kernel space of OSX. A few of these have been fixed, but others remain, Apple however responded quite quickly to the iAdware problem.

I hear a chair screaming for help.
They don't make chairs like that anymore.
I wonder if it has wheels on it??
Probably ruts in the floor tile, to and from the fridge.

How do you know they are not on it? You don't right? The source of these reports is the people who want to sell you their security software. They capitalize on our fear. The author notes he spent most of his time on Mac and Linux. Very little time was spent on Windows/Vista. Well, that makes sense if you are trying to sell software. Everyone already installs it on Windows. No sales opportunities there. So, go scare yourself a new market with the people who do not need it. It even works better if you can create some mistrust amongst the user base. Just plant the seeds of doubt the manufacturers are unwilling, or unable to protect them. You are their savior.
I do not have a Pollyanna view on this. I have no doubts that threats exist and an aggressive, on-going effort is crucial. But, the real solution is to fight this crime with the seriousness it deserves. That means mandatory prison sentences, equal liability for facilitation and for profiteering, etc.
dear lord, thank you! somebody else with some common sense. Its like all different repots come out about anything related and people go up in arms about it but never pay attention to who did the research. Just because its "published" does it somehow make it fact? What did the publisher have to gain from this? More so then often, you will note that the report that came out that says "chewing gum premotes healthy teeth" is indeed sponsered and funded and done by Stride Gum. Surprise! Same in this case, lets premote a few security flaws and every single news site will pick up on it by 3 days and bam, now we can advertise our Antivirus.

Raise a glass to the home server!
Many of us have been streaming our music for years.
This is where I think the puck is headed.
Make your own cloud.... With our all new TimeCapsule, now called iServer :apple:

If people want free, go for Audiogalaxy. It isn't exactly cloud based as it is hosted on one of your machines but you will have access to all your music for free.

So you're assuming that Apple are merging both stores into 1 and that developers have had time to implement universal binaries that run on 2 different frameworks and submitted the result to the app store ?
This is obviously a bug, but it's not what you think it is. ;)
Well, as i said i'm not really into apple products, but i guess apple would instead develop an emulator if something like that were to happen...
Maybe it's a point and click remote thing for apple tv...

Aren't we quickly getting to the point where it's all about the software?
Yes. I really wouldn't care if iPhone hardware upgrades came every 2 years. Just keep those iOS updates coming! That's the more important part now.

Why?
Muslim tradition. They are clearly being careful to respect Islam itself, to minimise any backlash.

I went to South Coast and MV, both said try back in the morning, but no guarantees. Still deciding if I want to try again in the morning and where. South Coast was a fiasco with the mall cop.

I guess I must be old school, I'm a consumer and I think about my wallet before the corporations treasure chest. Apple isn't pumping most of the profits back int the company or paying it out to shareholders. It's sitting in the bank. Or maybe they have something unimaginably huge in mind and I guess that is a possibility.
Hasn't Apple's success helped you think about your wallet? Companies are just now being able to price-match the iPad.

I kinda like it I guess, after all that has always been the Apple way, they coined the term "Desktop" with Lisa because they were trying to emulate the stuff you had on your desk (When demonstrating Lisa Write they described creating a new document as "tearing off a clean sheet of paper"), BUT like others, I like having my neat, clean PC interface for my calender, hopefully there will be a "classic" mode.

I do not have $879 to spend on a chair and if I did I would not. It's a chair! :D
The Herman Miller Aeron isn't just a chair... it's an experience!
Seriously, I probably wouldn't spend $879 of my own money to buy one, but my previous workplace had those and it was THE most comfortable office chair I have ever used.
As for a Christmas wishlist... I've already bought way too many tech gadgets this year already, so I'm asking friends and family for cash or gift cards to help offset those purchases instead of having them struggle to think of even more stuff to give me.
I bought an iPad in May,
http://www.tipb.com/images/stories/2010/01/ipad.png
and a VitaMix blender last month (which I like, but dang, it was expensive).

(There was also the KitchenAid food processor, the home theatre system, ... yeah, I've bought enough "stuff" for myself this year already.)

Since when did a persons lifestyle choice become everyone else's business? Jesus, I didn't realize being fat was such an ethical decision...
And to actually bring in healthcare and politics into this? Seriously? Then you guys should:
1) stop smoking cigarettes,
2) stop eating fast food,
3) stop sitting on your ass typing on mac rumors (maybe go for a run?)
4) avoid ever single carcinogen on the planet, like say, the sun (UV radiation?)...
5) stop driving cars, or doing anything that involves fast or dangerous movement, like say sports?
6) be the perfect most healthy person ever...
...because it's my problem. I'm paying for it in my taxes. HOW COULD YOU BE SO SELFISH!?
This is her choice. It effects her and her family, not you. I forgot how God declared that fat people go straight to hell, because being fat is so evil...

They're very nice and I love the look, but a little too expensive maybe soon if I can justify the purchase.
I think the price has to do with it being not just hand made in general, but also hand stitched. They were telling me that hand stitching is stronger and easier to repair over what any machine can do, but takes a lot longer to do. They're really down to earth folks. Just a younger couple trying to make a living at a trade.

And agree with Chundles that until we see ALL of Leopard's features listed, there's no way you can make a valid purchase decision on it.

Holy mother of god!! A question though, do they charge shipping seperately for each tee, or if you have a giant-ass order does it get billed per box? (crate)
I'm considering a mega tee order myself, but the international shipping rates are making me think twice.
Hey, when a sale like that comes along, you gotta go for it ;) I figure 20 is enough to last me a while.
They charge a collective shipping total. I think that for 20 shirts, it was like $15USD. For orders of just a few shirts, they send it in a nice bubble mailer with the Threadless logo slapped all over it, but since I ordered so many, it just came in a plain brown box.
This month, if you order a hoodie, you get free shipping. Details are on their site!
Hope that helps,
