Just a story...
The announcer swings his hand towards one corner of the ring, "And in this corner, with the full weight of Microsoft behind it...a device that will play your music...it will play your movies...it doesn't even have too, too many buttons....it's the challenger, the mother of all iPod Killers...it's the one....the only...THE MIGHTY....ZUUUUUUUUNE!" (Polite applause from the audience.)
The announcer then waves his hand towards the other side of the ring as the crowd now rises to their feet, cheering raucously.
"And in this corner, we have your undisputed champ...showing off a new physique...it's your video iPod!! With controls that simply...vanish...when you take your hand away?!?"
The announcer rolls his eyes, and motions, and in wheels the mechanical broom and dust pan. It whacks the Zune into little pieces, sweeps up the debris, then whirrs away.
"NEXT?"

That may be, but could the new prices also be from a recent deal between Amazon and the content providers? Can't agreements be changed after a specified time? Also, what Amazon is selling is not the same as what Apple sells. The music is the same, but the format and delivery options are different; with Apple it is in AAC that can be converted to MP3, whereas Amazon sells just the MP3.
Sure, there are a number of reasons why Apple is offering product X at price Y and Amazon is offering product X at price Z. The only reason to start calling it collusion or saying the DoJ should look into it is if you irrationally hate every company that isn't Apple.

The frustration I feel when going from a Mighty Mouse with ball to a mouse with a scroll wheel, is the same as when going from a mouse with a scroll wheel to one with none. What a pity it requires a lot of rubbing/wiping and/or disassembling to keep it working!

Sure you can. What you can't do is grab stuff and assume that it does the right thing without checking it for yourself. That's equally true for software developed in house, or developed by subcontractors or commercial partners. It has little at all to do with public vs. private source code.

Oh great. I'm going to have to tie up my Internet connection for a long period of time to update my 4G iPod touch and iPad 2 for the 4.3.2 update. :rolleyes:
I REALLY hope that Apple does incremental updates of iOS starting with iOS 5.0 to save us from tying up the broadband connection for such a long period of time.

YES! I would love a iPhone on Sprint's everything plan. I know several people with Sprint smart phones and the service they provide is great for only $70! Choice is a good thing for the customer and if the iPhone 5 does have a global chipset, then wider availability would be the best way to go.

I guess that means you can't legally run XP on a Core Duo or Core2 Duo system...
Even for XP Home multi-core processors are considered one processor. It's the number of chips that counts. All started when Intel started Hyperthreading P4 CPUs (i.e. presenting them as 2 CPUs).
