It's cute that people think Comex actually ever made a working Jailbreak for iPad 2.

One of the things I've always liked about higher res monitors is that my palettes and toolbars are very small. Thus I can fit more palettes on the screen at one time and not have them get in the way.
I hope resolution independence doesn't make my palettes huge, like they look on lower res monitors.
I don't know wy people are so worried about this. Everything will be exactly the same size that it currently is on your computer (1 to 1). The only difference will be that with Leopard and resolution independence you'll be able to scale certain elements larger or smaller. You don't have to scale the elements if you don't want to but the option will be there.
This is a good thing. Even a great thing. No more jaggies when enlarging fonts and other elements.

are you in the uk or ireland? it uses 220 power. I would not be able to comment on it I don't think it sells in usa we have 110/120 power.
I live in Italy, so no problems as we have 220 v power. What I was interested in is the quality of the device. At a first look it seems to me it is a firewire aluminium enclosure with a LG R/W optical drive inside (but I am not sure).

i0nic said he would release a jailbreak by this coming weekend
er didn't he said he was going to release it this past weekend? Then retracted saying "I never promised anything"?

Hi, I run Snow Leopard natively on my MBP, and have installed Windows 7 on bootcamp.
So, i boot into Win7 and i can read files on my Mac partition but i cant edit/ write to them.
I was wondering if there was any way to edit/write files on Mac partition while being in Win7 partition.
I've done my search and found MacDrive to be an option, but it costs a lot where i'm from. Are there any free alternatives?
Thanks :)

No idea what your talking about, on tinyumbrella it just says
iPad23G 4.3 (8F191)
I tried the iPad2,2 4.3
but when I do a restore I get Error 1013.
They say it's normal, but when I try to kick it out of recovery, it is stuck in the recovery loop.
Any ideas?
Try iPad 2.3.

Your function example is a sum of squares, hence the a*a +b*b etc
Sum of cubes is a*a*a +b*b*b etc and that will give your 11k as per what he got
For your assignment, my approach would be to have 3 variables set to sum of squares, sum of cubes, and mean of squares and print out the desired variable to give your answer if the integers are within the desired range

So I just got my apogee duet (it's from 2007 which previously belonged to my friend who passed it on to me). I have a Macbook Pro 10.6.4 version and the cable it came with is a 400-400 so I went out and bought a 800-400 cable for it to plug into my macbook. Heres the problem, as soon as I plug the firewire cable into the port my macbook completely SHUTS OFF/CRASHES. EVERYTIME where I can't get the duet working. I tried turning off my macbook THEN plugging the firewire into the port. After that I'll turn on my macbook and it will work with the firewire plugged in but that does not mean I can get it working. The firewire has to be unplugged then plugged back into to initiate a response to turn the duet on but NO, my macbook completely shuts off again. I haven't even gotten a chance to use this baby, I haven't been able to get it working/turn on even once.
What is the problem here?!

wow, setting your bars pretty high, huh? 2 years. top 3. bold statement I agree with that poster.
Key partner - Nokia (#1 volume seller of the world)
Did you see sales of Symbian phones from last year? And that is an outdated looking OS. Nokia may be catered for the cheap, plastic prepaid phones here in the USA but they are still highly popular everywhere else.
Android was still for the niche crowd back in 2009 selling about 6M units. They grew by 10X last year. Once people's contracts are up, I can see moving onto other OSes eventually just for their fickle nature and willing to try something different. Microsoft should try to make an Xbox phone. Their Xbox 360 has been successful for them and the Kinect became one of the fastest selling gadgets in history with over 10M in a few months. In two years it will be Android #1 with iOS and WP7 filling up 2nd and 3rd based in volume sales. Based on profits, Apple still wins. BlackBerry is still niche outside NA and webOS is even more obscure.
iPhone's popularity is like Facebook. Once your auntie and grandma have one now, it became "less cool." And it's an industry based on trends and fickle people.
As for nomore Zune players, who cares? Zune software still lives on with WP7 phones. If you aren't Apple, you don't matter in the mp3/pmp market which has become niche anyway thanks to phones. I was using my Zune software and Sony Media Go just to watch videos on my laptop last night. Less crashes than what iTunes does for me. Software will still live on.
This is my personal roadmap with phones -
2010 - iOS
2011 - Android or BlackBerry OS 7
2012 - Nokia WP7 phone w/ Xenon flash or Samsung w/ SAMOLED
Then rotate and rotate it because I am cool like that OWNING the top 4 best OSes out there! Palm/HP webOS is too much like BB's QNX/BB OS 7 for me to consider it.
iOS has the apps, simplicity, best batt life, and best "all-around" features. Android has the geeky customization, cutting-edge hardware first, and the PlayStation games which will coincide with my Sony PSP2/NGP. BlackBerry has the best multi-tasking and slickest OS thanks to TAT. WP7 is there to implement my Zune and Xbox Live stuff while a OLED screen compliments the look of WP7. Also, Nokia will gives us Xenon flash. It all balances out, baby.

Never seen one in the wild. Just in stores. A Target, to be specific.
But the UI, graphically, was actually really nice. More mature than Apple's elementary schoolish UI. Similar aspects have been ported over to their windows phones and they look great. But Apple's ecosystem can't be touched. Period. Be it Zune, Xoom, Android, Honeycomb, whatever - no one has, or can(?) develop an equivalent ecosystem. Game. Over.

Any application itself should run off the system drive. The application doesn't need a dedicated drive to run. I think what your friend means is that you keep all your projects and media used in that project on a dedicated drive. It's those files that will get accessed a lot and if you want smooth, consistent performance you put all of that on a dedicated drive.
That's what I thought at first, too. But, he keeps persisting that I install the software on a separate disk. I think that would be easy with a desktop like a Mac Pro where you have multiple hard drive bays.
I'm just trying to optimize my mac's performance without jeopardizing it's system drive, which is a WD scorpio black I put in it, and get the best out of it the computer, without ruining anything. (I'm overly anal, I know, it's a curse.)

I just ordered myself one of OWC's wicked new 6G SSDs, plus an optical drive bay adapter so I can put the stock rotating hard drive in place of the optical drive for extra storage.
I want to have a portable USB optical to take along in the bag when I'm doing repairs, though, and it seems like a waste to buy a brand new one and shelve the pull from my MBP in case of warranty repair. So I wanted to get a USB enclosure for it, preferably bus powered.
You can get one from MaxUpgrades for $25; they sell it as part of a kit with an optical drive bay adapter, but since I got one from OWC I'd just be ordering the drive case:
http://www.maxupgrades.com/istore/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=186
...but once you add shipping you're looking at over $30, which is basically the price of a whole external. Has anybody bought one of those cases, and if so, was it nice enough in terms of build quality to be worth $30?
An alternate would be this Syba brand one from Newegg, which would end up being about $23 shipped:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817801052
Anybody by any chance tried that one? Other recommendations for a case for a slot-loading slim optical?
You need to get case that is made for slot loading optical drives. If you don't the problem is there is nothing to protect the disc when it comes out of the drive from scrapping the bottom of the drive. Will it work in the case? Yes. Will it look good? No. Personally I would just buy an external disc drive considering how cheap they are.
Cheers
