In terms of specs, here's what you can get in an HP Pavilion dv6000t for $1263:
Windows XP Media Center
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7200 (2.00 GHz)
15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen!!
256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7400
Built-in Microphone + Webcam
1.0GB DDR2 SDRAM (2x512MB)
120 GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive
8X DVD+/-R/RW w/Double Layer Support
But the HPs are definitely NOT slim computers like the MBPs (you can go check them out at Best Buy). I don't know of any PC makers that are producing anything as slim as the MBPs, so it makes comparisons hard. But in terms of "specs", there you have it. I don't believe this. Why would Apple waste money on a carrier that has just been bought?
The best asset that T-Mobile USA has is its network.
AT&T will no doubt want to use that eventually - it's probably the main reason that they're buying it.
T-Mobile's 3G coverage is solely on the AWS band.
A future iPhone that could use all of the bands that AT&T/T-Mobile USA owns would provide a real boost for AT&T. It would expand their network coverage with minimal cost and no hassle of waiting for planning rules etc.

I'm starting to think this rumor may be true. And its actually not a bad thing, My iPhone 4 is working great right now, it's plenty fast and looks awesome. Waiting a couple more months wouldnt be a bad thing. I usually wait a month after new releases anyway for demands and lines to die down.

IIRC, the manager said that they only had 16GB WiFi. But I had already tuned out at that point since I was there for AT&T, so I may have misheard.
First off...Eriden nice meeting you today, sir! Was a fun morning less the disappointment of neither of us getting our desired model.
Anyways, Eriden is correct. The Brea store had only 16GB Black Wifi and a mix of white and black 16, 32, and 64 Verizon iPads.

Take into consideration that you're running a beta OS on beta software. Both Fusion and Vista will get faster and more bug-free over time.

I've started with <./fah6 -bigadv -smp 16 -local> after getting rid of the unit it was working on, it is finally using all 16 cores now, had only been using 8. It doesn't look like it's doing anything more strenuous.

There are many reasons for this. The crowd of Apple lovers wanted more from Macworld than what they got, and the market has been terrible lately. Their second quarter revenue predictions were very conservative, and some people think they have shone the brightest they will ever, and just don't think their worth it. I disagree, but as much as I would like to be, I'm not the stock market.

It's too late for Microsoft - they are just riding Apple's coattails now, in a desperate attempt to create something that can compete with iTunes+iPod...but thats all it is, a desperate attempt :eek:

I hope that you are correct, but it does mention May 2nd and 3rd. I know that we will have thunderbolt, but I would also love to see USB 3.0 and Firewire 800. And some impressive GPU options.

i'm on my second mighty mouse [soon to be third once i have this once replaced] in 6 months. the scroll wheel stops working pretty quickly. i don't find the size of it all too comfortable.. but when it's fully functional it's a decent mouse.
if they don't fix the scroll wheel issues though, i'd say the BT version is worthless. it's unacceptable that apple hasn't fixed this issue on the wired version. they can replace it all they want, it's still going to break a month or two later. plus, it takes 30 minutes or so for them to replace it, which is rather annoying.
all in all, cool that it's BT now, but terrible if they don't fix both versions.
