My first thought was; the AIR is loud?? but then I realized you meant the cool pad
Yeah, my bad :D The cooling pad is loud but its not as loud as my first HP Pavilion laptop with a Pentium 4 desktop (yep, a desktop processor) processor in it. That thing had 3 fans running all the time.

I can see they learned from the Gizmodo incident and now it has the "If found, please contact ..." text on it. There's no way someone can say "I found it, it's mine, I didn't know it was Apple's" :D

Has anybody thought these might all just be preventative filings? It's possible but they better not do this (not release such a product). I WANT this.

No one will know that until they try installing Windows on a VM.
The implication from Paul Thurrott's comments via daveschroeder above is that it isn't a tecnological limitation, but I agree with you that it shouldn't be hard to detect VM or not. I would presume the first place they'd go is for the DRM and thus eliminate lots of what people would like to do by running Windows in a VM on a Mac.

That's kinda how I feel about this. Would have been great if we captured him (though that started to feel unrealistic, what, seven years ago?) but this was the inevitable outcome. Don't feel any real positive emotion out of it because of how long it took, and how the most damage of 9/11 came from our response in my opinion, but yay I guess? I don't believe he was very active in Al Qaeda anymore, and even if he was, he's an easy replacement.
I agree, however it'll still deal a great blow in moral to many of our enemies.

That looks hideous.
It was a mock up made based on a sketch given to them. It's not as if they had a CAD file to go from.

Good time to buy. $$ :D
Amen. It's such an increase from just three years ago when it was around $23 a share. Buying low now takes a lot more money.

Okay, they fixed the Portal, so I was able to download it, a 79.4MB file, lets see how this runs compared to parallels.
Post screenshots if you can! :)
Is this for Intel Macs only or will it work on PPC too?
Intel Macs only. I'm pretty confident that anything involved with running Windows on a PPC Mac is dead by now

Apple pays 70% straight to the record companies, which would be $0.90. If Amazon pays the same, then they have $0.21 loss before they even start. Or Amazon gets different prices than Apple, which would need some explaining.

Wondering if were going to have a game or not?
It's better to wait longer before starting if you get more players (should at least have 15).
"Don't Panic" said he will play but I didn't see his name on the list.
I'll play and bring some popcorn in anticipation of another "Don't Panic" / Aggie argument :).
Note: I have a bunch of work coming up so I may not be as active (posting) as usual :(.

Why didn't any of you vote? Unless I'm mistaken, ucfgrad is going to be lynched by a vote of one when the narrative is posted. :(

Setting aside the question of no VM at all, has it occurred to anyone that having a restriction on running in a VM even on the licensed machine could put a damper on the idea of having Parallels (or VMWare) be able to start up off of the BootCamp partition? As that's an ability that I've been wanting, that's something that bothers me about this....

I cannot believe people are still stupid enough to believe that they will come out with a white iPhone 4 (My personal two cents). It makes absolutely no sense for them unless they really did plan to postpone the release of the next generation iPhone.
Just look at the mediatrends especially how much of the media was hyped on here with bestbuy stocking them up and all other major retailers all of a sudden having the white SKUs in their systems.
Get real guys, if you want a white iphone from Apple. Mostlikely you will never get one hence why i gave up and bought a conversion lol
Lol your going to look really stupid in a couple weeks. Why would you say this when there is so many reports with all the same information coming out? Especially when heads at Apple are saying it? These reports aren't from best buy employees. Those were obviously flakey. But when Bloomberg, Reuters, and Phil Schillerare saying the same thing what makes you think those are in the same league as best buy employees.
Has apple even ever announced a major hardware product in the last 8 years and not released it?

They might just be testing it so when T-mobile is part of att it would work across the network instead of atts original network.

If it's connections to your laptop, that's a win right there. Once you've set up the other connected devices, you won't have to mess with them whenever you go somewhere with the laptop.
The only connection I want going to my laptop is power. Everything else needs to be wireless. That is winning, duh. ;)

For all of those people who are saying "Once it adds X I can finally remove MS from my computer..." have you not considered Open Office? I find its actually better than MS Word in many respects and being open source its totaly free.
A year ago I would of said Apple would never package iWork free with Macs, but the more I see that iWork is hardly setting the world alight the more I think it probably would be a better business model to package it with systems. Im sure they will offset the cost with selling more Macs in the first place but more importantly getting people hooked into buying the update each year ala iLife.
