This has to be the least hyped(and cared about) keynote since steve jobs returned to Apple. I didnt even know when it was going to be until I read on a videogame website that there was this 3d game for the new iphone.

Apple computers and software is not bad, its just being neglected. I am afraid that Apple is no longer creating great computers that beat out other pc's. They are halting that, and concentrating on entertainment(movies & music) and other gadgets...iphone,ipod, apple tv, airport...etc.

2. I think what we've heard about Snow Leopard is exactly the direction Apple should be going. More substance, than style. OK, someone recognized the abbreviations and proved that the graph is accurate (provided the context I noted was absent). One could also come up with another arbitrary explanation for the graph involving a parabolic piece-wise function given the fact that you can't infer specific curvature characteristics from a hand-drawn graph. It doesn't magically invalidate my point. The point was to show that there could be a logical explanation for the graph and the submission was stupid. That point was made.
For instance, lacking a scale, let's suppose that graph passes through (0,0), (1,1) and (2,0). This results in an equation of y = -x^2 +2x. However, we notice that to the right of 1, we should have a decreasing dependent variable. However, they share a common point, 1. When x = 1, n = 1 (using the alphabetic rather than the Greek for simplicity's sake). Also, when x = 2, n should be 0, to flip about the point of 1. When x = 0, n should be 2 (again, flipping about 1). This results in n = -x + 2. Solve for x and substitute into above parabolic equation, and you have a graph that both roughly matches what is shown and satisfies those inequalities for n. I had an iPad (1st gen) and liked it to an extent. I "need" a computer with me at all times, and the iPad just didn't cut it for me. I gave that to my dad and got an 11" MBA with 4GB, and fell in love. I no longer have to carry the 15 MBP around with me, and the air is such a nice weight and size, and packs the same punch as it's bigger brother the pro with certain obvious limitations. I would go ahead and get a $25 USB DVD burner from newegg, and consider using USB drives or cloud storage as you mentioned. as far as iwork/office goes, if you are making these presentations and not distributing it to others, iwork would be fine. If others are giving you powerpoints and you are displaying them, you might want to get office to ensure compatibility.

I see, I'm going to read over the Terms And Conditions after work.
One part says "For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, the �time of purchase� may extend from the day of your Mac purchase until the end of Apple�s 14-day return period".
I guess it still implys that I need to purchase the computer from Apple and only Apple, but that I have two weeks to purchase the 1 to 1.

A big problem with the big megapixels is the amount of storage they take on your phone. You cannot adjust the megapixel size down with a phone camera like you can with a point & shoot camera. A 16 megapixel camera in a phone will not give you a better picture than a 5 megapixel camera in a phone. A phone just does not have the room to install a quality sensor.
Exactly, re: sensors. The amount of electricity-induced noise on a small 16MP sensor for a cell camera is going to render images fairly useless at large sizes (even 8.5x11 would doubtlessly require a lot of cleanup work.) For practical purposes, it may as well remain a 3MP sensor...

If you use a stereo audio minijack to RCA then there will be separate volume controls on your Mac and TV, try turning volume up on both devices. With TOSlink there will not be a volume control on the Mac, you will have to adjust from the TV. Is there a stereo/AV system involved or are you using the speakers installed in the TV itself? Double check that you aren't mixing up the in/out ports and that the HDMI port you are using is associated with an audio input, some devices assume HDMI will carry the audio and you may need to use a specific HDMI port acocciated with the audio in jack.

There are so many threads on this general topic, that, ugh, please just search for them? But on the specific issue of TBE not working on your Mac, what do you mean? This sounds abnormal. I use FF and love it on my Mac. And I have TBE, and it works fine. The only thing that's flaky for me in TBE is closing FF and re-starting and having tabs resurrected on restart. That has never worked properly for me on PC or Mac. But TBE behaves the same for me on both OSes.
OTOH, I definitely do agree that a number of themes behave strangely on FF/Mac. Try Safarish -- http://www.aroussi.com/article/11/firefox-osx-safari-look -- if you like the way Safari *looks*. NOIA Xtreme worked pretty well for me on my Mac too.

Now that I have a great new white iPhone 4, I'm taking a wait and see approach.
It has nothing to do with the color, but rather how great this new model is.
Normally I trust Apple and pre order the moment they release each new iPhone. But after getting burned with Antennagate, I'm not taking the risk.
Another shocker is how many improvements the new white iP4 has. It's far and away the best of all smartphones.
The performance as a phone is wonderful. Loud and clear, it doesn't drop calls. So now that I have a great iPhone there's no reason to get iPhone 5.
I'm going to enjoy this one till iPhone 6.

Good thread, I'm also fairly obsessed with tagging and artwork :D
Mine are sorted into 5 genres and then use groupings as a kind of sub genre.
Anything that has a featured artist is put into the comments field (I think it looks so much cleaner than if it's "Song Name (Ft. Some Artist)")
All Bonus Tracks, B-Sides and Music Videos are set to Disc 2 and have no track number and are unchecked so they don't carry on playing once the album is finished. They also have comments saying which single the B-Side came from etc.
As much as I love iTunes I find it quite frustrating as it could be so much better. I'd love to be able to tag each song with multiple genres, as you said it can be hard to lump them into one category. And I wish you could "tag" a song with a music video, so instead of having two entries for "The Dead Dog", you'd just have the song within the album and have the little video icon on the right, which you'd click if you want to watch the video (if that makes sense!) :D
And while I'm at it... year, record label, and country of origin in the album artwork column please :P

@ChrisA Thanks for the reply. It was very informative! Actually there's a lot of things I need to know because I'm actually migrating to Mac from PC and there are some things which I'm not clear.
Most of the instruments on jam pack are just "ok". Good enough for your own composing but not good enogh for profesional recording. But there are third party speccialized software instruments that work. Jam Packs are the best bang per buck because you get so many on the disc. but always there is something better.
This is one example of a 3rd party "plug-in" I think there are a few others. http://www.ninevoltaudio.com/products/taiko.html

I'll post it elsewhere when I get home. I have seen a number of very similar problems that seem to stem from bad wu's so I'll keep trying. It would be my luck though to have the first wu be bad making me think my set up isn't right.

Sorry, but even the head of cyclone/hurricane research for the World Meteorological Organization says that it is premature to link "global warming" (see: theory of) to increased hurricane activity this year (http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/09/23/MTFH02074_2005-09-23_11-27-45_SCH341095.html).
Neither position is right or wrong at the point. The head researcher with the WMO says that studies still need to be conducted, however it would also seem that in the past there have been some strong storms may it be snow, wind, rain far few than at present.
As stated it is only going to get worse till the balance is regained. Its not going to escalate and continue on that path its going to subside. When that will happen no one knows yes, as we do not know the peek yet.
Much is to be seen. :)

You have a loop. The "system" command is executed each time in the loop. So when you enter "Q" to exit the loop, all the commands are executed again. That's what the printf should have shown you.
So what happens when you execute the second system () call? I don't expect it to work. I expect it to overwrite the output of the first system () command.
I fixed how I exit the loop but overwriting was never a problem. The code that uses the file was not incorporated yet.

If I am going to hook up my Xbox 360 with HD DVD drive up to a 1080p TV, which will look better: VGA or HDMI? The reason I am asking this is because I want to know whether to go for the Premium or the Elite, seeing as I don't like the black color of the Elite and don't think that I'll fill up the 20GB hard drive in the premium. Does VGA look just as good as HDMI? Because then I think I'm just going to go for the premium. Or are the rumors true, and will the Elite, once it sells a certain number, have its price cut and become white again?
