In geography, actually. Which, just to sound weird, was where I was during the July 7th London attacks. And the failed London ones (can't remember the date)
But don't fear! I've dropped it this year, so the attacks should clear up...

Assuming that the processors aren't dead, then you should be able to get a new board on ebay or another site and install it. You are correct where the board does not determine the clock speed. If you also want to boost performance you could buy new G5s on ebay and install them on the new board. Good Luck!:o

Or follow a nice, easy iPhone dev related Twitter list, which includes all the main players, like this one:
http://twitter.com/Aubin/iphone-jailbreak-teams
This also allows you to follow all the irrelevant re-tweets comex does, as if anyone cares what he thinks about non-jb topics.

I hate how you have to download the entire OS every time there's a small update like this. 666MB for a few bug fixes... Also, what's up with the 666MB? Maybe we should stay away from this update guys lol.
I know. It's insane... Hopefully with iOS 5 we will get some sort of patch system, like on OS X. Makes sense, really.

When you copy something, you're not taking it. The original is still there.
Ooooooohhh... so I'm all turned around on this whole P2P thing.

...What's the point of a hold button if it isn't physical anyway??
It could be a button such as the locking method on the 1gen shuffle...hold the play/pause button for 5 seconds or so...see the flashing led...locked. (I really don't like that lock method, but it is what it is).

Do you remember USB 1.1? The USB 1.1 port and plug look like a USB 2.0 port and plug, but a USB 1.1 port/plug will not deliver USB 2.0 speeds when one connects a USB 2.0 device to a USB 1.1 interface.
The same goes for the MDP and TB interface.
While TB might look like MDP, they are not the same.

If they had them, and consequently added probably $100 or more to the price of the display, would you actually commit to buying one... today?
& i'm sure folks want faster reaction time better graphics capabilities
Possibly, but that's a limitation on LCD tech in general which will get better with time, but Apple LCD's at present are probably among the best computer LCD displays available. I don't know what else you'd do until the tech itself improves... except to say this: Those who are really serious about color, clarity and contrast should stick to CRT's for the time being. Nothing beats a Trinitron in this arena.
& somewhere, someone wants it glossy
Probably... but the greater likelihood is that graphic designers who tend to buy the higher end Apple LCD's don't. Matte displays are far better for accurate color and contrast. Glossy displays falsely enrich the image, which is a problem if you're trying to maintain a color match from prepress to proof.

Late to the party. "Other", as in other things to do before answering yet another loaded hypothetical from 5p, masquerading as a poll.

I wish Apple would revert the green timeline to the old transparent one. I know the green has been here since Lion's first build, but still. It's pretty ugly.
I wish they'd get rid of the stupid star-field background

Arn -
I love the new design (and I'm a web designer, so I'm not just saying that). I think it really gives the site much needed structure and organization.
I also like your streamlined logo - and appreciate that you switched your font to Myriad to mirror Apple's new look.
Everyone is complaining about the ad space - I say BRAVO to you for being an entrepreneur and making money off of your site. Take as much space as you need.
I look forward to seeing the new look/feel for the forums. They are very much in need of a facelift. I've fooled around with bulletin software before though, and I know how challenging it can be to change forum templates - especially all the configurations are in perl.
Since I love your site and use it all the time - if you need any pro-bono ideas or design, give me a holler! I'll send over my resume and links to my work - joe@bitterlemonstudio.com.
I look forward to using the site and seeing how it holds up in the real world.

Here are a couple more I tried to take to show the bezel finish. There is no coating involved just sand paper and electrical tape. Here is the thread about the process: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=332434&highlight=brushed+aluminum
There is one tiny, tiny, and I emphasize TINY nick on the back that I couldn't get to come out in the pics. But trust me it is TINY! Just full disclosure.

Tempted - what boot loader is on it (what firmware was it when it was out of the box)? What week number is on it (4th and 5th digits of the SN).
Week 38. The original firmware was 1.0.2 I think. It was the firmware right before 1.1.1, whichever one that was. And it's currently on 1.1.3.

Most people do not seem to mind the DRM restrictions as long as they can easily move their files to the iPod. Just having the DRM and then copying manual songs to the iPod is not what most people do. They are used to the integration. So, unless he also build a iTunes equivalent with very similar functionality and has an integrated store, it is not going to pose a hread to Apple.
But then, they are going to sell DRM'ed songs from stores other than iTunes, probably fo rthe same price. What is the benefit to switch?
Unless.... he can make the subscription/rental model work with the iPod, which will have a small impact initially, but may have a larger impact long term.
