i suspect we'll see leopard released in january.
Not unless January is in the Spring, which is when Apple has officially said Leopard will be released.

Didn't know of that one. How does it run? Any problems?
I'm always a little careful when it comes to third party things on OS X as you never know what Apple might do in their next OS update.
That being said, I'm running ZFS systems (BSD/Solaris) for years now and absolutely like the system, never on OS X, though.
It runs on an old but stable release based on onnv_74, which provides zpool version 8 and zfs version 2, so it doesn't include RAID-Z2, RAID-Z3 or any of the newer functions, which is why I am very interested in Ten's Complements up-to-date version. It's an external kext, so it shouldn't suffer from anything when Apple updates Mac OS X.
It's solid in my experience and there have not been a single case of lost data in the project's history (knock on wood) :)
I'm using it on one of our Mac Pro's running Mac OS X Server (10.6) and haven't encountered any problems, other than lacking some features. Well, the most important feature is, of course, Copy-on-Write and the other features that enables the high data integrity. Got to love the zfs snapshot command!

If only Apple would just tell us. If the Iphone 5 doesn't get a bigger screen I am going to shop around. It pains me, but the phone is too small for me at its current size. I want a slightly bigger screen.
I'd rather buy Apple, but HTC is sneaking up quickly.

You'll probably be better off trying to sell your Touch out right. I don't think anyone would have an unopened iPhone.

I am planning to attend the Apple store launch event. I'm still unsure of what time I will arrive. It will likely be sometime after lunch. I hope that those of us arriving in the afternoon aren't late to the party.
I distinctly remember people lining up for Xbox, Wii, and PS3 launches hours and hours ahead of time.... like 8 to 12 hours ahead of time.....
Surely that's not the case here?

Yonah is more expensive than the G4.
iBooks will feature integrated graphics guaranteed. They already have OsX running on the Intel 915 chipset in developer macs. Most cheaper laptops use the same chipset. Apple have no reason not to use it in the iBook. It's a budget product to them.
This will create an immediate differential with the powerbook which will end up using a seperate gfx card.
Don't expect prices to much different across all product lines than they are now. Apple didn't switch to intel because they are cheaper (the new processors aren't) they did so because IBM couldn't keep up with theyre predicted roadmap.

I looked into getcwd, and I was able to get the directory of the executable. I wrote some code to modify the path to go up a couple of folders, and I verified that it did the correct modifications. Furthemore, I found that the program worked just fine when I opened the package contents of the .app file and ran the executable inside the MacOS folder from Terminal.
However, the .app will not run from Finder.

"Error occurred during installation please try again" doesn't necessarily indicate there is anything wrong with your machine. I have received a similar message whilst running Software Update and the problem was with the network.
Have you tried as advised - tried later?

I managed to get Portal 2 working on my new 27" iMac by editing a system file to fool Steam into believing that you are running 10.6.7 - I believe the 10.6.7 requirement is because of new ATI graphics drivers that were bundled with that release and therefore this is quite safe (as the 10.6.6 build on the new iMacs obviously has the drivers for the machine).
I've posted the full details at http://bendodson.com/weblog/2011/05/04/portal-2-on-the-new-imac-10-6-6/ but basically you need to change the SystemVersion.plist file in your /System/Library/CoreServices/ directory so that the two references to 10.6.6 are changed to 10.6.7 - Steam will still complain but when you say "continue anyway" it'll actually run.
Enjoy!

Crap. I'm screwed. I upgraded mine and it was never on my Mac since I downloaded it right to my iPad :(. Does anyone have the v 1.0 they could send my so I can install it after I remove the other?
I have it. But the DRM has to be removed.

Was in my biochemistry of Nucleic acids class as things began to unfold. First heard about it after class let out. Had a spare before next class, went to the starbucks on campus to check out CNN, as we couldn't log on to site.

Well, I don't think the OP specifically broke any forum rules. This was not a for sale thread, nor a thread asking how to sell on this forum.
I would suggest selling this on Craigslist. You could probably get $75 for it there, as opposed to ~$20 here. Shipping this would be close to $35 for this, so not many people here would be willing to pay that unless they were a diehard collector.
In order to sell here, you need to have a minimum of 250 posts, so unfortunately you can't sell here. Therefore, you'd have more luck selling it locally.
If you still want to try selling it online 68kmla.net and LEMSwap (http://groups.google.com/group/lemswap) both deal more specifically with lower-end hardware sales. But please, stick around this forum. Its the best. :D

i had screen artifacts and then a lock up before. i hoped it was not the mobo. so i cooked my graphics card at 400 degrees in the oven. and now it's back to normal. if you see screen artifacts it's usually a graphics problem. (from my experience since the old ibooks. do you have apple care? if you do. try to record the problem on video and take it to the apple store.

HDMI isn't an issue for me as I watch movies on my TV and don't have time to get into video editing etc. ;)
I only have room for one display, and need something that will run Mac and consoles... currently settling for a 1366x768 HDTV :( would love to replace it with an ACD... component and HDMI would fix that...

There's a timing issue here.
While LTE is out, it's not widely deployed yet. Cores of cities are being covered, but many markets don't have coverage yet (true for me personally - my "market" has coverage, but only where I work and not on the commute home, or at home).
Mobile chipsets for LTE are also power-hungry today.
When do you push to have LTE in your handset? Sure, Verizon may be pushing it, but until a device can meet Jobs's's's high bar for performance, I don't see a shift just yet.
Perhaps a delay to September makes things clearer to Apple. Perhaps there's a new chipset coming from QC which doesn't suck space and power (and generate a lot of heat in the process).
September also allows for a bunch more expansion of LTE, specifically VzW here in the states.

Thats why I bought 8GB memory and 256GB SSD from Apple in my new MBP. Compatibility and the fact that if ANYTHING goes wrong with it I don't have to futz with it.

I had the mStand as well but as Knight mentions, it didn't suit the MacBook Air as good as it does with Apple's other MacBooks, so I let it go and just recently purchased the Griffin Elevator. I must say I really like this stand and its minimal approach matches the MBA aesthetics very well in my opinion.
Also, since it has a smaller incline than the mStand, your able to tilt your Macbook's screen further back.
Very nice and highly recommended.
