One of the things I've always liked about higher res monitors is that my palettes and toolbars are very small. Thus I can fit more palettes on the screen at one time and not have them get in the way.
I hope resolution independence doesn't make my palettes huge, like they look on lower res monitors.
I don't know wy people are so worried about this. Everything will be exactly the same size that it currently is on your computer (1 to 1). The only difference will be that with Leopard and resolution independence you'll be able to scale certain elements larger or smaller. You don't have to scale the elements if you don't want to but the option will be there.
This is a good thing. Even a great thing. No more jaggies when enlarging fonts and other elements.

man fsck (http://www.hmug.org/man/8/fsck.html)
fsck = File System Check.
Everytime you start your Mac, there's a little spinning wheel. That's the fsck being done automatically for you.
Sometimes if you're having troubles with your Mac and you don't have access to other integrity utilities, you can try doing a manual fsck when booted in Single User Mode.

Are there any other lame ancient world predictions about the end of the world once we get past 2012? I'm kind of getting sick of all of these end of world predictions that everybody swears is accurate and then nothing happens.
I hope we can get past 2012 and all this end of the world nonsense will finally stop for awhile until the year 3000 at least.
A few earthquakes do not mean the end of the world. It just means the area hasn't been as active in awhile and there has been a lot of built up pressure.

Hi! This might be a bit difficult but would be very useful for me posting at my blog.
I would like to have something like this: (example of a page talking about the iBook)
Check for (link)Ibooks(/link) on Ebay
I would like this to be automatically at the end of the page when I write a post on the blog.
I dont know PHP very well but i was thinking something like this:
At each page, I could add a value like Value=Ibook G4 and then make it make a custom ebay URL that searches for Ibook G4 (thats easy to do).
I would insert all those codes at the PHP theme file for where the posts appear and just add ex: value=iBook G4 in my posts everytime
(I already have adsense ads that appear automatically)
Anyone here know their PHP/HTML to help me out doing this?
Thanks!

Sorry to say Bella apple could really care less if you switched
Apple might not care individually from person to person, but they care that Android (and now Windows Phone 7) is stealing market share away from them. This is a fact, look at the figures.
If we didn't have wonderful hackers to JB these things for us and make them usable, it would be even worse.

I was going to wait at the Apple Store that day, but thought that by the time I got there the line would be too long and they would run out, so I went to an AT&T store close by to get the iPhone. I did run by the Apple Store around 10pm that same evening and found out that they had more than enough phones to go around.
I heard the line was insanely long that day, but was managed well and it didn't take long to get all those people in and out of the store with their new toy...I'm sure next Friday will be the same way depending on how many people are going to buy a new Mac the same day as well.
It's going to be interesting. :)

iPhone to "borrow" from Disney Mobile's (http://disneymobile.go.com/) GPS Enabled Family Locator(TM)
http://www.globalhempstore.com/images/disney-mobile-family-locator.jpg
The Disney Mobile phone is a family-oriented phone service. Apple's upcoming "iPhone" will of course be marketing to the masses. However, some features will most likely be "borrowed" from Disney Mobile and of course built-upon / improved, such as Family Locator(TM).
After viewing the following, you should notice a that Apple's iChat and iPhone will be nearly one and the same! So, rather than locate your kids, your kids become your Buddy List. The Buddy List will be organized into groups: family, work, friends, etc. In addition, Apple could fairly easily implement more into the mapping feature, such as nearby Apple stores, Starbucks, McDonalds, etc.
In additon, Disney Mobile has downloadable extras such as:
- Ringtones
- Images
- Themes
- Games -- think new iPod Games!
- Movies.com Movie Finder: $2.99/mo subscription service with movie info, times, locate theater, etc... all or which could be integrated with mapping service to actually locate the closest theater.. heck, even someday purchase tickets via your mobile phone or even make reservations at restaurants such as Chili's with your iPhone!
From Disney Mobile Web site:
Family Locator allows you to locate your kid's phone with GPS technology and display a map of the location.
First Select Menu
Then, select Family Center
Then press OK
Scroll to Family Locator
Then press OK
The first you you use the service, you'll be required to enter your PIN, then agree to the terms of service...
Select the kid's phone you wish to locate
Enter your PIN
Press OK
The application begins to search... the following results are displayed:
Joey is near:
1231 Any Streer
Los Angeles, CA
- Accuracy 10 yards
After receiving an address, you can access an area map to get a better view of the location of your child's phone.
From the location page... select Map.
An area map will appear with a shaded circle indicating the reported location and accuracy range.
Use the NAV KEY to view surrounding area.
Then you can zoom in and out... by pressing ZOOM.
Select a different zoom level by using the NAV KEY
This feature is also available on the web which allows you to locate your kid's phone with GPS technology and display a map right from your computer without using your phone.
Google Maps are already available for mobile phone: Just visit www.google.com/gmm (http://www.google.com/gmm) on your mobile or desktop web browser.

Can I redownload any TV Shows in 640x480 (crosses fingers) :p
B
That's what I've been hoping for ever since I downloaded the first TV shows on iTunes. 320x240 was not exactly fullscreen goodness even at 1024x768.

For which system?
Also the reason for the M rating should be listed on the game. Your parents can decide what they think is appropriate for you based on the content, and not just the rating. If they are worried about you seeing nudity or sex, then you should stay away from Bioware games.
There is nudity in Bioware games? I've seen the illusion of sex, where they "do it" but you don't see a thing, and no nudity (Mass Effect, DAO)

See Apple? Do you see this? Offer the damn iPhone unlocked everywhere, including the US. I won't buy any newer iPhone unless it's unlocked.
Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that de la Vega still holds Steve Jobs' pancreas hostage.
Oh, and cue in the fanboys defending provider locking, an anti-competitive and anti-consumer practice. Again and again, no matter how mind-boggling, it's proven that US consumers, including the geeks, want and demanded locked phones. Truly sad.

Have you checked HotScripts (http://www.hotscripts.com)? Personally I'd use PHP.

I, as well, use Yahoo as my dummy account. I even use it with Mail.app. My suggestion is to configure you outgoing mail server to that of your ISP if it isn't working. I know Semo.net and Cox both have this problem of STMP outgoing mail. I have to use "mail.semo.net" for me to send my mail. But it works.

In the frame on the right click "Alphabetical" then look for Windows Crash. It's number 849 in Alphabetical or you can just search for "windows crash" cant seem to get a direct link sry.

Flash isn't exactly new technology as first NANDs were released back in 1987. However, NANDs have not offered much capacity before today. Back in the biggest NAND we had was 1GB. I think 2.5" SSDs can hold up to 16 NANDs so this would result in capacity of 16GB. The biggest HD in 2005 was 500GB, which had more than 30 times bigger capacity than the best SSD could have offered back then.
Right now, we have a lot bigger NANDs. The biggest ones used in SSDs are 32GB I think but Toshiba has already announced a 128GB NAND. I don't know when they are shipping them but 64GB should already be available. 16x128GB would give you 2TB! In the mean time, HDs have not developed that much. In 6 years, the HD capacity has only become 6 times greater (500GB -> 3TB). In that same time, NANDs have become 64 times bigger in capacity (1GB -> 64GB).
Okay, that is it for the history lesson and why we didn't have SSDs until now. The reason why I think SSDs are still so expensive is the huge demand for NANDs. SSDs use the same flash memory as lots of other products, i.e. NANDs. If you look at the industry now, a lot products are using NANDs. Phones, tablets, TVs, computers... Pretty much all electronics with some kind of an operating system. Smart phones have become very popular during the last few years. Tablets are still very new but they are also becoming popular.
When the demand is big, then the manufacturers can keep the prices up because people will buy it anyway. What would your iPhone be without a nice amount of storage? Or would you prefer a hard drive in it which would make it a lot bigger and heavier? Those devices simply cannot be what they are without NANDs. This means OEMs must buy NANDs, no matter what the price is.

I pulled it from an old Tivo box.
Well then it's not exactly a Windows HD is it, more like a Linux HD...;)
It wouldn't hurt to wipe the partition table from Windows even if you don't use MacDrive. TiVos have lots of little partitions on the drive, some ext2, some MFS.

That was a steal
You can get G4 towers very cheap these days - ignore the online reseller prices because they are often very high. Even MDD models are going for well under $100 these days if you look around. The Mac Mini has deflated the used value of G4 towers, and to a lesser extent, later Mac towers as well.

With all the proper drivers, it will run 3ds max like any other computer with the same specs. There should be no decrease.
Out of curiosity, I once ran 3ds max in a VM on my 2007 iMac and it performed quite well with a scene with over 1 million polygons (DS9 mesh).

Where is this plist coming from? If the "jpegphoto" was an NSData that'd be pretty obvious how to load it, but since it's an array it's unclear what the array is holding.
Can you loop through the array and print out the class name of each of its objects?
