Why would you need 64 bit for a MBA? To fly off those huge sample libraries that the processor would lock up over?
64 bit is only for massive memory allocations and a MBA doesn't even have the CPU to pull it off... :rolleyes:

Seriously though, there are a few benefits of running in 64 bit mode even on older processors. memory mapped files for bigger files that would otherwise use up more than the 32 bit address space are now possible and 64 bit registers can speed up a few types of programs, even those that don't deal with very large datasets.
By your line of thinking, who needs 64 bit at all ? My 233 mhz UltraSparc II should have just been a 32bit processor. :rolleyes:

No, the European iPhone is the same hardware as the AT&T iPhone. It will handle voice and pokey EDGE/GPRS data on the T-Mobile USA network, but not 3G data because they use the AWS band for that.
Whether you believe that there is carrier exclusivity is irrelevant. Apple probably tests on many different carriers around the world.
The fact of the matter is Apple doesn't announce the terms of their contracts with mobile operators, so your so-called "exclusivity" could have ended at midnight yesterday.

Using Apple.com prices for comparison, current Mighty Mouse is $49 and Bluetooth Mouse is $59.

I hope so, but I won't say it's a given.
Supposedly, Bill Gates and other Microsoft top brass were obsessed with the decline of the big great corporations (IBM being one of the best examples). Yet Microsoft has been (arguably) slowly heading in that direction as it tends to stumble in markets where they can't exercise their monopolisitc power (as in anything not OS or Office related).
And Apple's quite familiar with monumental success and decline from past experience. So we'll see. But for once, the roles are reversed.
I dunno, the XBox seems to be doing pretty well, and I don't see how one could say that Microsoft had a monopolistic advantage there. All they really had was a brand name and mucho $$$ for marketing, and they managed to establish a foothold in the game industry.
Microsoft is very smart to leverage its successful XBox brand rather than its floundering (in terms of reputation, not profits) Windows brand.
I for one, am glad to see Microsoft push Apple. My biggest hope is that Apple introduces an iTunes subscription-to-go service. I tried the Microsoft-compatible ones (especially Rhapsody), and they were awesome.

Ugly, unsymmetrical, having a bit of a bezel actually is good for appearances.
And think of this, you don't always hold your phone vertical like that (it still looks ugly unsymmetrical vertical), for many things you are holding it horizontal. That would drive me buggy to have it that lopsided when using it horizontal just cause how ugly and unsymmetrical it would be.
As for the gesture button? Don't think so. That would be awkward to try to do those gestures in that smaller area.
Not to mention I am pretty sure what made the interface for the iPhone so popular and Apple's whole philosophy is that it was very intuitive how you operated it. When you want to change screens you flick the screen like you are pushing the screen you don't want to the side to reveal the screen you want. Not so intuitive like that to tell people to learn gestures on a small area where they aren't visually reminded of what they are doing.

Good thing I picked up a graphics card upgraded iMac instead of waiting :p

Much as I like how the MBP looks, and know that it's a good performer, the lack of a good (gaming) graphics card won't tempt me towards saving money for one of these. x1600's all right, but not really enough, especially for the next couple of years.

Apple patched the first wireless driver exploit (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/11/20061128162852.shtml) along with other unrelated vulnerabilities this week, however all remaining MOKB vulnerabilities remain un-patched.

MOKB organizer "LMH" spoke to MacRumors about the project. According to LMH, most of the project's time was spent on Linux and the Mac OS, both of which were described as "not hard" to break.
The Linux kernel takes little time to break. I'm more familiar with the code and thus it also takes less time to isolate issues. OS X kernel (XNU) takes less time but depending on the area you're checking, debugging and isolation may require a bit more time (if you take into account that AppleTalk source code is almost unreadable and totally deprecated) [...] I didn't have much time left for working on Microsoft Windows but I've received the most helpful feedback from the MSRC people on potentially interesting stuff to check. Not a huge reference of internal code nor NDA covered documents, but at least enough to start with.
In LMH's point of view, the state of Mac OS X security is not great.
From the technical perspective, OS X security is rather poor, at least when it comes to kernel-land code. This isn't a sign of negligence of Apple, but obviously when you take code from many different places and stick it together, it's prone to problems. I believe icerabbit was referring to a feature to restore an item to its original location once putting it in the trash. Windows has this feature in the recycle bin and it's a handy little feature.
This isn't to do with Time Machine as the user has not yet deleted the item from the Trash and the system.

Once again the drones at Microsoft can't come up with anything new so they spend all their money trying to muscle in on something someone else had the vision to create. I hope they fail big time.
By the time M$ get any sort of marketshare Apple will be onto something new and innovative that that Big Bill will have to throw even more $$$ down the drain to catch up.

I think you have things somewhat confused, transvestites are typically the ones with big hands, wide shoulders, adams apples etc as they don't take female hormones and typically never have surgery, they simply crossdress.
You seem more than anything just plain misinformed, like you have some exaggerated idea of what being transgender actually means. Put simply you only notice the transgender people you notice, so to your eye you may casually cast us all as obvious. I used to think similarly myself, it came as a great surprise to me that transgender people for the most part live fairly normal mundane lives.
