I would have got the wireless keyboard/mouse set for my iMac if this was available at the time. Oh well. I'm considering switching to the Logitech Laser anyways. I get sick of the MM not recognizing right clicks.

I saw and got my hands on a possible prototype IMac that had a touchable screen and a smug free screen. It also had the earlier uncoded virtual keyboard in the Lion OS. though it was only a prototype but a very realistic one for production. I believe it to be the IMac I and my father both got our hands on earlier this year.:apple:

I think you are all wrong. On the BMW model names "ix" stands for a fuel injection engine and four-wheel drive. I believe there is an OS M coming for certain BMW models.

i have a mighty mouse for my iMac, and i've never had a problem with the scroll ball "sticking" or recognizing right clicks. i like it a lot and i am quite psyched for this.

I bought a Mighty Mouse when it first came out.
Personally, I love it. I do have clicking issues, but not the same as others - where others fins it accidentally left clicks when they try to right-click, I used to get right clicks when I tried left - but after a long time of use, I have learnt to use it as I need.
The scroll ball is awesome, but does seem to fail occasionally...a bit of dampness ont eh ball fixes this though.

I know there's a "don't prompt me next time" box that pops up in the itunes settings on OS X.

Me too. Appstore ask me to enter my pw every time I purchase something from my iPhone or my iPod Touch (even if it's a free app).

How much money does an average new car cost? How much money for a house? When looked at in that light, there is nothing draconian about the national debt. Nothing to indicate that it can't be sustained.

The US can't continue to be the global police force. Frankly Europe consumes the majority of middle eastern oil, not the US. Sadly there are far too many Chamberlain's in Europe.

I'm with you 150%. I love pages in that it just lets me create:fast. I don't like that it makes assumptions (or more, I don't like the assumtions that it makes) as to what I want to do. Your example of the dropped in graphic is dead-on. I dropped in the graphic, so probably I want the graphic. I may want to do more with the graphic, but I may not. iWeb does the same thing, and the pre-1.1 template-only-no-blank-pages thing just made it even worse.
I'd like a tiered level Pages. Maybe an "expert mode" or something that just places things, then has better designed menus and "inspectors" to let me do what I want with it. I find the inspectors to not be well laid out or logical. Why is the text broswer in a completely different dialog than other text attributes, i.e. paragrapgh style, color, etc.? Only Apple knows. If you want to do seperate dialogs, at least give me the option to merge or tab like InDesign.
My only two beefs with Pages is the fact that its toolset is everywhere. You've got some toolbars which only really get you to some space hogging side views and inspectors which take up tons of space just for the one or two things I need to hit. Second, it needs a built in macro language - even if its based off AppleScript (i.e. an AS menu would do then). Having AppleScript support but not accessible within the app itself makes it much harder to deal with.
For example when I put in a graphic, I want to make it 2'' wide, shadow, move with text, wrap to the left with a black border. That's 4-5 panels I have to go through each time I add a pic. I add about 50 or so pics per doc.

Without using iTunes & ATV, does anyone know of a product where you can wirelessly stream the media contents of any shared volume to the TV? I would imagine such a product would need a PC/Mac side client as well as a TV attached gizmo�like iTunes & ATV. I have both anyway, but I was wondering of different options.

My original point is though that, given that you ALREADY have all of your music (and probably videos) stores on your local hard drive of your computer, and have your computer connected to the internet, why the heck would you need APPLE to stream your music from the internet, when you can just buy StreamToMe or Audio Galaxy or 20 other apps that can do this for a $5 TOTAL incremental cost from what you already have. You can stream all of your music, including your already set up playlists, AND your video right from your figgin' hard drive. Why the heck do you need to pay APPLE anything?
The only benefit I can see it to not eat into your HOME data cap limits, which are usually pretty high anyway (I've NEVER had an issue, and I stream all of the time). But you'd have to upload your non-iTunes purchased songs to their servers anyway, which would offset that somewhat.

It has been brought to attention that Apple is encrypting certain parts of the OS kernel. Does this have any bearing in this discussion or it is only to make piracy of the OS more difficult?

Mmm .. no. The reason you don't see it much is because XP SP2 is pretty rock solid as far as operating systems go.
Well, it is better than previous versions of windows. Both are reasons you don't see it as much.
My pc used to crash fairly often, and it was often when it was just sitting there and I wasn't even using it. Based on the number of times it happened when I was around, I can only imagine how many times it happened and I was unaware.

To chose a 4G phone over an iPhone in 2011 is a poor choice and the result of marketing and nothing more. Unless you live in spot with great 4G service and never plan to leave the house, you won't see average speeds any faster than an AT&T iPhone. Not to mention your web browser won't render pages half as fast as Safari, so speed differences are utterly negated.
Plus the fact that few countries have 4G networks. Apple cares about selling worldwide and many markets aren't ready for that

Wake me when iMacs have matte screens again.
I have the last model of 24" iMac that had an anti-glare screen. I just had to make the first repair, replaced the hard drive.
My fear is that I will be forced to build a Hackintosh or get an iMac with one of these new cheaper screens.
