Well, you can download it: http://www.felttip.com/products/soundstudio/
But you won't have a license for it, which is contained in the install on the other mac (you get a license to the app through the Apple s/w bundle). If you wanted to subvert that, it's pretty easy to figure out, so I'll let you do it yourself.

As evidence that some rich people didn't earn their wealth, you just referenced Enron that went bankrupt, Madoff who went to prison, and the Banks who we bailed out... and would have otherwise gone bankrupt. So, essentially three examples where the free market either did or would have (without government intervention) correctly punished bad businesses. Odd choice.
Not really. I consider them vastly underpunished. Do you honestly think that all of the wealth that they stole went back where it belonged? How many friends, relatives, smaller investors and purveyors of luxury goods and services recieved a windfall from these criminals? The crime cannot be undone. They spread their ill-gotten gains around for some time and much of it cannot be recovered. Justice is only partially done at best.
Hardly. All I'm trying to do is better understand your position. You seem to take the position that the majority or mob rule can decide how much money to take from one person without inflicting the same on another person... in effect choosing winners and losers. Furthermore, you seem to not put any limit on this position so it would seem that you feel the majority has the right/ability to take as much money from 'the rich' as they choose to as long as they do it with a majority in the democratic process. This would imply that you don't think that the person who actually earned the wealth has any sort of moral or legal claim on the wealth. Please enlighten me as to where I am going astray in describing your position.
You love those loaded terms. If taxation is "mob rule", then we've been living under it since the 18th century. As far as "choosing" winners and losers, you seem fine with letting your vaunted "free market" do it; I happen to think that such a process is unjust if unalloyed with further means to prevent excess. The mere fact that a person makes a living and then some from the "free market" does not necessarily make them a legitimate "winner" with the strongest moral claim to all of their wealth. In fact, if you agree with the concept of taxation you already agree with this principle. Your "right" to anything is predicated on your ability to protect it, whether that be through legal processes, or through coercive force. Nothing in "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" specifically states that the top 1% of this nation ought own 50% of the wealth.
You are ignoring my point about how small cabals of wealthy and powerful people pay lip service to democracy and then do whatever they want - how is this somehow less of an injustice than the rest of us raising taxes on your beloved billionaires? Especially when you aren't one of them?
Finally, just because you have a legal or moral claim to wealth or property does not mean that you are the only person with a claim, or that your claim is the strongest. All Americans have a very strong moral and legal claim to being able to earn a living - but as wealth increases the moral claim weakens, to the point that the wealthiest people maintain much of their wealth not through any moral right but simply through their own ability to hang on to it. Your first dollar is very much yours - but your ten millionth is up for some debate.

These rumors are starting to randomly coalesce around what I think is a more probable timeline of events:
1) The iPhone 5 is launched in late summer/early fall (with September an obvious target date)
--This phone sees modest improvements like a slightly better camera, perhaps more storage, white option, and an antenna refinement combined with perhaps a slightly improved processor (but nothing dramatic)
2) The iPhone 6 is launched in September of 2012 with a larger screen (maybe-I'm still skeptical of this), a processor from the iPad line, redesign, LTE, and new goodies to lurch the phone forward (much like the retina display was for iP4).
3) The iPhone line permanently moves to a fall launch sequence and essentially replaces the iPod line at September events.
The rumors are clearly pointing to a September launch, especially with the white 4 around the corner. I think this is a mistake on Apple's part when Android phones are able to leap frog within a few months. I also think that dominating more news cycles is possible when you launch products at their own dedicated events, but if the white iPhone 4 is really going to be out soon, I don't see how a revamp is possible just 2 months later in June.

Just got the MX1000 yesterday on sale.
That one does support OSX, but not sure about MX900.
Haven't really used the MX1000, cept for 5 mins, the grip feels good, seems to track very well, looks damn nice, and seems to be alot better than my old Microsoft Wireless.

The pictures seem like they have a low shutter speed, or the sound is the problem?
The mirror flapping around probably takes around 1/8 of a second and makes much more noise than the shutter.

Hmm. Well I'm moving into film & photography work (well expanding on it once I make a quantum leap from this GMA950) and looking at a 27" iMac.
I have a friend that's working on a previous generation i3 3.06GHz, even with those cruddy graphics, it does more than adequate rendering 1080p on Final Cut. I'd say leave it at there and don't be an overkill noob and buy ultimate everything as many of those kids barely use it for email and web browsing.
I'm actually going in tomorrow to get a range of iMacs tested with a friend of mine who's an Apple service provider - he's about to recommend a fleet to a small media business and I'll get back to you on that with how they compare :)

2)The nonsense you speak of is why Amazon is killing the iPad as an e-reader. Don't believe me? Go read the tens of thousands of comments about how hard it is to read a book (not a website....not an email...a book) on an iPad.
I know, right? And my telephone makes calls much easier than my iPad.
As for reading on the iPad, I love it. I didn't read a book on my iPad for the first 6 months I owned it. Now I don't ever want to pick up a real book again.

Hey, someone from my Apple User Group is trying to sell their 1.33Ghz 17" pb. If you're interested, I'll PM them on our forum and ask what they want for it. It has 1GB RAM/Superdrive.

They did lower the prices overall, so I don't see a problem. You can get an 80GB iPod for less than I bought my 60 GB (with the discount). They probably also figured most people getting an iPOD (not necessarily doing the purchasing) are students, and they didn't like the hassle of doing the Student ID checks.
I would like to see a bigger education discount in the computer area. As a teacher, the price is still a little high. It would be nice to start the Macbooks at just under $1000 with a DVD burner with the 1.83 Ghz... or I should look into a career that makes buying Macbooks a BREEZE...
by the way... how many times is iTUNES 7 going to "determine Gapless Playback Information" I hope this isn't a daily process. It has already done it 3 times after connecting my iPOD.
They are still doing the Back to School Promo on iPods, maybe when they finish this they will go back to dual pricing.

This has NOTHING to do with being out of contract. Please stop spreading this myth.
When you buy an iPhone you buy it WITH a two year contract. Whether you use it or other networks or not has nothing to do with ATT getting their subsidy money.
That's why I'm saying that they're going to soon be offering official unlocks for AT&T iPhones. They already offer them for ANY GSM phone that they sell once a subsidy contract has ended. At that point, you have paid them more than the full amount of the phone's value and you actually own the phone. They should offer an unlock for iPhones that are out of contract, just like they do for any other GSM phone they offer.

For which system?
Also the reason for the M rating should be listed on the game. Your parents can decide what they think is appropriate for you based on the content, and not just the rating. If they are worried about you seeing nudity or sex, then you should stay away from Bioware games.

I don't see another xbox in Microsoft's future.
And why not? The Kinect sold in record numbers, the PS3 is playing catchup, and the 360 recently outsold the Wii.
Kinect is fastest selling electronic on record (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12707160)
Xbox 360 Outsells the Wii in February (http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/xbox-360-outsells-wii-in-february/)
Xbox Division sees 86% Profit jump with $8 Billion profit. (http://www.industrygamers.com/news/xbox-division-sees-86-profit-jump-as-microsoft-sells-63-million-360s-during-holidays/)
Kinect outselling Playstation Move 5:1 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/293295/news/kinect-outselling-move-51-pachter/)
Why would they walk away from that when they are the 'Big Daddy' of the console market.

When I "geotagged" all of my photos last year, I couldn't find an automatic way to do this within Aperture. I'm sure that there are a few perl (or similar) solutions out there but that would (likely) require a re-import. That was a deal breaker for me so I just went through them manually. It wasn't that difficult. I got through roughly 20,000 photos in just a few hours.
I created a Smart Album for all of my "Untagged" images. I keep it around for maintenance of my geotags now. There is also an Album called "Unknown Locations" in my "GPS Albums" folder. Any image that I don't know the origin of goes into this folder (this keeps it out of my "Untagged" Smart Album). When I was going through in mass, I just kept my "Untagged" album sorted by date and hit them top to bottom using the Places view. Most of my images could be tagged 30, 40 or even 100+ at a time.

Giving my '08 Mac Pro a new lease of life with a SSD. 3'5 (so I won't have to worry about sleds etc.) I'm going for a clean install, but is there any special considerations regarding formatting I should be aware of?
This is the drive;
OCZ Vertex 2E Bigfoot 120GB 3.5" SATA-II
Should I install in windows first to update firmware?
EDII read this post which has got me thinking it going to be difficult
http://joshuablount.com/posts/2011/clean-installing-snow-leopard-on-your-ssd-considered-harmful/
I installed directly from the disc onto an OCZ Vertex 2 3.5" 120GB. However, I did not use the retail Snow Leopard disc, I used the 2010 Mac Pro disc that came with the computer. It might have newer drivers than the retail disc. Heck, newer retail discs might have newer drivers than older retail discs.
I don't update the firmware. I don't like to mess with things that work to my satisfaction.
However, as I recall to update OCZ firmware, you need to have Windows to do firmware updates and you cannot update an SSD that you booted from, so there are certainly some challenges to overcome.

I'll do it for $100 and meet you halfway in Draper.
If I had the $100 I'd do it Ben. I set aside this money from last year's tax return and it's the last bit of spare money I have. I shouldn't even be buying one... but seriously, my wife has been to hell and back for me and literally saved my life so I am going to get her something very nice.
If I had the $100 I'd do it in a heartbeat because she deserves it and I'd be happy to give somebody some extra cash for doing a solid for me at this time. I just can't afford it. Thanks for the offer though. It's much appreciated!

I won't be opening the box if I buy it, that's for sure.
Might not be an answer to this, but does anyone know how much a sealed iPhone 2G might be worth? And may be worth in the future?
Oh wait, if the phone is still sealed, how could it be a refurb?
